Ah, the little devil! This is the book which caused me to leave HarperCollins, and it`s still my favourite.
The tale of Mohammed Maguire, the offspring of two of the world`s most feared terrorists, who just
wants to be left alone, but finds himself at the heart of huge turning points in the Northern Irish troubles, most of
which he causes by mistake, like the hunger strikes.
It`s a satire, and short, and more of a fable than
anything, and it didn`t fit in neatly with my Dan Starkey novels. Harper Collins were expecting another crazy, fun
novel, and got this, and didn`t know what to do with it. So they did nothing and it sank without trace. Or it was
crap.
Either way, I quickly debunked to Headline publishers, who promised me fame and fortune.
